i’ve been reading a lot lately about raw-food diets. i’m highly intrigued and curious about the whole notion and while i have no plans of cutting out meat or ditching my oven, i really want to attempt some of these methods and build my repertoire. I currently eat a diet rich in fruits, veggies, nuts, and clean proteins and avoid dairy, gluten, and pretty much all processed foods. I strive to follow the Paleo Diet for Athletes as closely as i can, but have adapted it slightly to fit me and my lifestyle.
i have aspirations of making pastas, breads, desserts galore– all within the confines of my dietary goals. i really don’t think of them as limitations. i think of them as challenges. i love experimenting in the kitchen and this is totally up my alley. i mean, anyone can follow a mouth-watering, sinfull chocolate chip cookie recipe… but not everyone can create a palatable, decadent guilt-free rival.
from what i can gather, i already have most of the necessary ingredients in my fridge/pantry to begin creating some raw goodness. i also just ordered a vegetable spiraler and i’m on the verge of purchasing a dehydrator… let the games begin!
