ok, new year’s done. sxsw done. birthday done. easter almost done. i’ve had my fun, now it’s time to focus.
With just 20 days until my first race, it’s imperative that I get myself in line and try and get myself even just half as dedicated/motivated as I was last year. Telling myself the season is upon me hasn’t been enough. It’s time for a serious change.
Every year I give up chocolate for lent and Easter day has somehow turned into a chocolate binge-fest. Today is no different. I’m sure that by the end of the night I’m not gonna want to look at chocolate for a little while (ok, maybe that’s going a bit too far, but i swear i feel like i’ve eaten my weight in chocolate!) So, I’m letting myself get out all my splurges and tomorrow morning I’m starting MY season.
My sister is also beginning her quarterly “challenge”, so we’ll be able to motivate each other and keep each other on track. We’ll set goals, track them, and hopefully achieve success. We’re both extending our goals to go beyond fitness-related and hopefully better ourselves completely.
I’m actually really looking forward to this, I just haven’t felt like myself and I know exactly what’s missing. time to find it
I’ll get back on my race season diet.
I’ll complete all my scheduled workouts.
I won’t skip workouts or slack on my recovery.
I’ll regain my speed.
I’ll hit my time goals (much later in the season).
My sister said it best: “chocolate today, challenge tomorrow.”
